First grade is a special grade beacuse our kiddos are transitioning into routines and high expecations of learning. I hope to make our first graders year a fun and exciting one through play as well to instill the love of learning. 

There is so much that happens in first grade.  It is very important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes.  Each child will progress at his/her pace, acquiring skills as he/she is developmentally ready.  Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a strong foundation for future growth will always remain a priority.  You can help us by celebrating your child's successes, no matter how small, check your child's binder each night, read with your child every day and return take home readers daily.  Please work on math facts daily.   You can go to first grade and find several websites that will support skills we are learning this school year.  Please take advantage of them.
